If I left click on internet explorer icon, I get the following- can't
find "",exe:
If I right click the explorer icon and click OPEN then it opens up OK.
Anybody tell me what stupid thing I've done this time. Have
reinstalled 98se over itself but still the same problem. Thanks for any
pointers.

showed up in find--files or folders.
In control panel under add/remove, 'Microsoft internet explorer and
internet tools' is not listed.
Drilling down through the registry the entry in the shell\open\command
shows only "%1" the %* is missing. so I think that this time I have
done a good job on screwing things up. The os is 98se on the c drive. I
also have os 2000 on a 'g' partition and useing System commander to
switch to whichever I want. Somehow it appears that I have managed to
wipe out Internet explorer from 98 and am picking it up from 2000.
Ain't computers fun :-) Think at this stage had better move all the
programs I want to save onto another partition and do a format of C:
and put a fresh install of 98se back on.
There's 2.52 gigs on C, that should keep me 'geek-ing' for a while.
