Cindy,

You don't have to use Earthlink's software package in order to use their
service.

I use the regular Windows dial-up to connect, and have my own email and
browser programs.  Bundled software is not a choice I would make.

I've always found Earthlink telephone tech support very good.  Have you
tried there?
