I also agree with some of the other folks responding. I'd suggest using a straight IE version. Steve Gibson, a noted security and "bug" finder on M$ products also has some questions about Earthlink's browser.

Not that that is causing your problems The "taking over" of your home page can be defeated with a patch from M$ Update. (I think) IIRC Earthlink's browser is a custom version of IE. M$ has addressed that vulnerability.
