Dorian, I followed your directions and it seems I have all the
file associations correct. I'm sending you in private a
picture of the Folder Options window to show you the
association, "Extension doc opens with Winword" ... I think
that's what you are saying in your suggestion.

My ISP said it might be my McAfee virus scanner stopping the
email documents from opening up and I should call them asking
the how to disable it. Makes no sense to me as I never even
use it; it's not in my Ctrl/Alt/Del list and not in my
msconfig Startup list. They'll say anything they want to sound
knowledgeable.

I reinatalled MSWord and that didn't help. I hope I don't have
to reinstall Windows (I'm good at it but with what's involved,
it's a day's work) ... Harold
