I read somewhere that all OE email is HTML at some level. In OE 6 click CTRL F2 on a plain text email and you'll see the HTML source.
Not true. You can set OE to send plain text messages. See http://www.expita.com/nomime.html for details.
The Ctrl+F2 is MS's attempt at converting a message to HTML.
If you send a plain text message from another e-mail system (say Pine on Unix) and then do this trick (Ctrl+F2) OE will show it as HTML by replacing CR-LFs as the break (BR) tag and that is all.
To see if a message was truly sent in HTML format, all you need do is to double-click the message, select File-Properties-Details and then click Message Source.
