I have to click on an icon on my desktop in order to connect to the net... Different from my cable when I had it where it was on as soon as my computer booted... But, yes, the router flashes it's little green light when it's connected right and an orange light if something wrong... Don't all DSL's do that? I've never had any other account other than this one (bellsouth)... I have to configure it one time, do you mean the very first time I put the account info and stuff in? Then you are right...
