Peter, I have two DSL servicers, one at my service center and one at home. ATT and Verizon. Thunderbird did handle that well and I was surprised. Even though I use the Verizon SMTP out, I can still use it for sending mail when connected to AT&T. I did like T-Birds option to use SP*M control, but I don't get much of that, nor do I trust it. I simply like the look and feel of Outlook Express. Oh...and one bad thing about T-Bird was spell checking the previous message. I had to keep adding people's names as the spell checker would continue past my messages. Interesting Jeff, the reason I stopped using OE and Outlook too (besides the rampant security bugs at the time) was the lack of functionality. And when I could get them to work properly they couldn't do it for long. How many DSL companies do you use, or is that a typo? All my email providers require authentication as well, some also use SSL. And T'Bird handles them all equally well. It will be interesting when MS releases there anti virus app and anti spam app too, if they will be integrated with there email apps.
