Interesting. From what I hear, Epson never completely acknowledged the
problem explicitly. Even when I called for my refund they used plently
of double-speak about it. I still think it is an ink-related problem,
there are a couple of independent web sites with info about it--do a
search for "epson orange shift" or something like that, and you should
find them.

Yep. It's a great thing that a company stands behind its products in
that way.

It is amazing. The range of tones obtainable with it is great. Putting
a b&w 1270 print side by side with a Piezography one, you realize how
much shadow and highlight detail the 1270 doesn't render (I printed
exactly the same file with both methods). Also, there is no metamerism
(parts of the print seem of different color depending on the type of
light), and the tones are very close to neutral, just a bit on the
warm side, depending on the paper you use. The makers of the system
claim a longevity comparable to that of fiber prints, although they
are so far the only source for these claims. They also claim that the
range of tones the system can make is superior to that of wet prints...

I'm getting results I could never get with my limited darkroom
experience, without the mess or the fumes.

(the web site for piezography is http://www.piezography.com)
