I ~certainly~ won't argue with your right to believe in ~small format~
digital or its possibilities. I will caution you that neither of us can
afford "real digital" imaging, that is: medium and 4 x 5 formats which are
producing amazing photographs right now, ~today~.
But no ~small format~ digital setup, can even approach medium format/4 x 5
quality for years, probably ten or more. The technology for small format
digital simply is not there and no one is likely to develop such any time
soon.
*Do you have the ballpark figure for setting up a "competent" small format
digital imaging system?
Upwards of $30,000 for 11 x 14 capability, $85,000 and up for 16 x 20.
