There are some Japanese folks who inquired directly to Pentax regarding the K-mount for the coming DSLR, and Pentax confirmed that it (or they? :-) uses K-mount.It would be foolish to dump the K mount consider Pentax is no match to Canon EOS or Nikon. Backward capability remains the major reason for most Pentax SLR users to stay.
