When I made above quoted comment, I have to admit I was coasting along with generally negative and insulting comments on Digital Auto 110 possibility which followed immediately after this thread appeared, which was somewhat a surprise to me. In my earlier comment on this subject though, I was talking about many folks in Japan wanted to see this happen, and the great possibility of the digital version of innovative Auto 110. I do not know what the German article said, but if it was implying that Pentax might be coming up with the digital version of Auto 110 (well 110 designation no longer applies :-), my immediate thought was that it could really happen because of the call for the product at least in Japan. Pentax in the last several or more years have been playing safe and becoming boring. If they started showing their innovation and creative mind again, it would be a great boon to us, the Pentax enthusiasts. C/N would never do this, only Pentax! Auto 110, in spite of its miniscule size has large room for the film cassette, into which a lot of things could be crammed. It even had a winder which would work as a battery pack. If they did the Optio S, I am sure it won't be difficult to do the digital 110. I just think that they might exhibit it as a "reference display" as they always do, but if the response/review would be good, they might actually produce it (or, they may already be slated for the production). When Pentax first introduced the Auto 110, my impression was that they had a "playful" mind and really admired them (and bought one). If Pentax should show the digital Auto 110, it may be a sign that they may have regained the composure from the bloody cut-throat competition and can now afford to show their creativeness. Well, let's hope so. Cheers, Ken
