and software, the hardware part is indisputable, the aperture simulator isn't there.
This might save Pentax as much as $20.00 in manufacturing costs.
I might agree with you based on that, except that making the K mount lenses less
compatible than the screw mount lenses actually required more, or at best the same
amount of software development effort. It is obvious that the same neutering
wasn't done to the screw mount lenses because the camera didn't have the couplings
to prevent their use. You seem to have no understanding of how software engineers think.
If a cool feature is no more difficult to implement than not, then we will implement it.
Sales types are the ones who take out features they don't understand. I've had lots of
experience with sales types telling me what to do. It doesn't take a conspiracy. If
you're looking for one or you want me to try to prove one your out of luck.
I do find it amazing how an innocuous statement becomes an ad hominem attack, I am not,
as far as I can tell, attacking you personally, your actions, or your beliefs, I'm simply
saying that I don't find you or your argument in the particular interesting. Perhaps
you should look up the meaning of "ad hominem" before you use it again.
You are correct in one assessment which is implicit in your response however, my finding you
uninteresting may be more of a reflection on me but then I'm not the one who thinks he's being
attacked.

Ah. Another thoughtful, mature comment. If you can't argue against the substance of the opinion, make an ad hominem attack.
I'm still waiting for someone to explain why it makes sense for Pentax to add to the cost of every single piece of equipment they make just to satisfy the preferences of a minority, no matter how vociferous.
I drink to make other people interesting.
