More important than memory in many instances is properly setting up a scratch disk for PS. Ideally, the scratch disk should be a separate drive, or, if that's not possible, a separate partition on the drive. That will make a big difference. Also, set the Windoze swap or paging file to a specific size instead of letting it adjust itself. Make sure it's large enough, though. On my Win98 machine, I set the swap file to 512mb, and, with no other changes to the system, PS6 ran noticeably better. The actual speed of the hard drive is of secondary importance. HTH, Tyrone
