if you have opened the file and saved, then it remembers the settings again for that file. if you open a new file, it will used the saved camera model defaults. you can set the defaults you want and save them for the camera model. you have a global system choice to save the settings for each image in a database or you can save the settings in XMP files in the same directory as the images.
