I'd like to see also Grand Canyon and historical Route 66 if time allows. Las Vegas is also on the route, but generally I don't like big cities. Ann San also suggested Arches and Monument Valley IIRC. All this should be done within 3 weeks. Do you think it's feasible? Any other must see places, scenic roads, view/photo points? ============
Bryce is great. I'd go with Monument Valley and skip Arches, if you are pressed for time. Monument Valley is a must-see if you can swing it. Also great for pictures. [snip} Some facts: I will arrive on 15th September together with my colleague who is also (lurking) on the List. I will bring my MX and some of my beloved Pentax glass (M28/3.5, M50/1.4, M75-150/4) with me. Last days of our trip (Oct 3rd-5th) we plan to stay in San Francisco - what about a nice little PDML meeting there? ;-) Bedo. =========== Hmm, that must be midweek. We are setting up a NorCal PDML meet for Saturday, Oct 8th right now. Most of us can't do midweek. But several live in SF, so I can't speak for them. Maybe some of them can make it. Wow, great trip. Skip Las Vegas and do something else instead. It's really not worth your time and effort unless you like to gamble and like cheap, tacky glitter and glamor. Although they have good shows, which might be fun if they have some star you like. But if you like to gamble, go to Tahoe instead and get great scenery too. But avoid the rest of Nevada, one of the most boring drives in the world is to drive across Nevada. Nothing there. My opinionated opinion. Marnie aka Doe
