I used to have a cheap HP Scanjet USB flatbed. The hardware was just great
but the software was so dumbed-down it frustrated me. Especially the
"calibration". The driver that came with Windows ME (when I upgraded) was
so much better I didn't bother loading the HP software.
Agfa do great drivers, BTW. I don't remember who does their hardware (was
it Mustek?).
