I've got a rather odd problem. No, not that one, it goes like this..... At home, I have broadband access via cable. The modem feeds into a Netgear wireless router, from which my desktop and laptop work.
The laptop is working fine. On the desktop, I can use the mail programme built into Netscape perfectly. The browser, however, reports refused connections once it has been opened for more than a minute or so. IE will also not function. Yet the email client continues to download mail. I can access the router (during the short active period) and all seems well. It's a secure network and nothing seems to have been tampered with. I have up-to-date virus protection and have scanned for malware. It's almost as if an invisible firewall suddenly starts to function. Zone Alarm is uninstalled at the moment, as it was causing me difficulties with the network. Is anyone less baffled than I am about this? mike ----------------------------------------- Email sent from www.ntlworld.com Virus-checked using McAfee(R) Software Visit www.ntlworld.com/security for more information -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
