Dear Patrick After managing with my Sigma 12-24 for the wide angle shots, I eventually bought a new 18-55mm. It's light, easy to use and takes great shots.
I hesitated on the 16-45mm like you are on the new 16-50. The clinching argument was the 6 fold increase in price £300+versus £50. I dread to think of the multiple on the new lens!
