Bring an extra set (or two) of batteries, and keep them in a warm pocket. Lithium batteries last longest in cold temps. Bring a pair of thin gloves; metal lenses are very cold on bare fingers, and it's difficult to operate the camera with thick gloves. Bring a couple of large plastic bags (ziploc or other sealable bag) and put your gear inside before you return to a warm environment. Wait until they're warmed up before removing them. This will prevent condensation from building inside the body. (That's something that should be done with all cameras, actually.) Hope that helps. (I used my *ist DS in -30C temperatures, with no problems other than shorter battery life and cold fingers.) -- -- Cheers, [EMAIL PROTECTED] MichaelHamilton.ca -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
