It's a bargain. Good lens for the price.

That will be an expensive, and large, lens. I'm not sure I could
justify it, even if I did save up the money.

I have a DA 16-45/4 on my DS2, and it is a very nice lens. It's a bit
bigger than I would have liked, especially with the hood, and I'm
considering getting the 18-55 as a "small carry" lens. But with the
full kit bag, it works nicely. Have the extra couple of mm on the wide
end has been useful though.

I'd get the Pentax 18-55 if you're going to spend that little. And
it'll be a drop in the bucket compared to a 16-50/2.8, if you do
decide to take that plunge.
