Interesting, I have no issues bringing my Dual-Core Athlon with 3GB of
RAM to its knees in PS.

Of course, I also shoot LF. 500+MB TIFF's will do that to you. MF
scans are also pretty brutal on system resources. Digital is very easy
on a system.
