Hi Dave,

I generally only use 2 cameras at any time, more would get confusing.
Does it really matter which camera took the image? The image records it
anyway.

I just load all the images into a single directory, changing the name as
I go to something meaningful, usually the location at which the picture
was taken and the year followed by the 4 digits the camera appends.

I use a Photoshop batch job to create thumbnails for my database and
then put the RAW files into DVD sized directories in numeric order.

A little bit of fiddling gets the image data and the DVD number into my
database and from there I can look up anything I want. It even adds the
GPS location of each photo if I've been carrying my Sony GPS recorder.

I keep a copy of all images on a 1 terabyte drive and the most recent
ones on a second computer on the network. I back up the directories to 2
DVDs when I get the time.

The big drive lets me click on a thumbnail in the database and have the
original RAW file open in Photoshop going back to image 1 on my *istD.
It will fill up eventually, but by then I'm hoping drive space will be
cheaper.

  Leon
