Thanks Bob, That's very interesting.
As you can see from this image http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2349/2419224177_5feca8c7a2_o.jpg there are only six depressions on the camera side of my TC. They look identical to me, and do not appear to be pins in any way shape or form. Its a little hard to see in the image but there appears to be a small contact point, surrounded by an insulator, at the bottom of each depression.
