i can imagine how it would look to a newcomer but, like i said, it

looked around a little for stats on the Net and this was all i could
find for now: stats from International Road Traffic and Accident
Database (OECD), the figures available are for 2004:

the per capita fatality rate for some countries:

india: 8.33
china: 8.26
uk: 5.34
japan: 5.76
canada: 8.56
france: 8.67
usa: 14.53
russia: 24.01
australia: 7.94

that, i guess, only gives a rough idea and things would have changed in
five years...
