Although they have the same sensor, the K7 seems to render shadow detail considerably better than the K20. Don't know why. Definitely more shadow detail and less noise.

I had thought that about the only thing the two sensors had in common was that they are both 14.6mp. I'm sure i read somewhere that the K7 was a redesign from the ground up. It wouldn't surprise me if the K-x sensor was slightly lower resolution, since it is, in reality, a slightly lower resolution sensor. I find the high ISO abilities to be intriguing, and I think that would be a good complement to the ability to lock onto a fast moving subject.
