The D300 runs circles around the K7 (I've seen it happen).
Sure. The D300 is benefiting from both some single-digit body that ate
the development cost for the auto-focus in an accounting sense and
Nikon's overall volume that's paying for the testing, which is what, 8
times Pentax's or so? Now that Pentax is doing relatively much better
than they used to be?
I would really hate to be the guy who has to make Pentax's product
development roadmap decisions.
As would I.
I am on record here for saying I would pay a hefty premium for a world class
performer from Pentax.
I don't know what I've said in the past for how much I'd pay, and that's
moot because it'a a moving target anyway.
With that as a preamble, in todays coin, a K7 with a Nikon D300 AF would be
something I'd gladly pay 2K or a bit more for right now.
They may as well pop the K-x sensor into it while they are at
it, as much as I hate Sony.
I have a credit card waiting.
