Hi Paul, There's truly f-all difference in detail (k-x-k20D), in fact if I had to chose I'd probably give the advantage to the k-x (due to less muddiness in the shadows). I will shoot a pair of RAW shots using the same lens on my K20D and K-x soon so you can see for yourself.
