The K-7 has a 4-channel readout, the K20D a 2-channel readout, that's the 4 vs 2 you recall. The extra channels are necessary to achieve 5.2fps. This is not the bits per pixel which remains the same between the two bodies based on all info I've seen (final output is 12bpp, not sure what the ADC spec is originally). -- M.
