Being specific: I'll buy WD drives, I just won't buy WD enclosures.
The WD Caviar series drives have worked very nicely for me.
I've got a couple of the WD "My Book" drives, and they drive me crazy.
They take so long to become active after you plug them in that I'm
always afraid the drive has failed.
And the only drives I've ever had actually fail have been WD Caviar series.
OTOH, I've had good luck with Seagate drives, and I heard a lot of bad
comments about them.
