Sorry, it was me being unclear. I meant that the newer PEF files won't open in Pentax digital camera utility 3.x


Is there any advantage to using the Pentax utility over Adobe Camera Raw - other than if you're using an older version of Photoshop whose Camera Raw doesn't support your camera?

Only price and as an aid to any latent masochism one may have.


And if there is, wouldn't you want to be using the later version of the Pentax utility that supports your camera?

All other things being equal I would agree with you. However, Silkypix seems to have made an already clunky GUI into an "as close to broken as makes no difference" one. Sad but true....
