I started out with Bibble 4, I have a copy of bibble 5, but haven't
worked with it at all. Technically, bibble seems quite good and bibble
5 is supposed to fix a lot of the UI problems of B4.
For me, the biggest advantage of LR is that it is basically the industry
standard. If I need advice on how to do something, I can find it.
I've found that with > 80,000 photos in my lightroom catalogue, it's not
as peppy as I'd like. Since you don't go back a lot to older jobs, I
suspect that you could do what I used to do and just start a new
catalogue every so often.
My feeling is that if you knew as much about lightroom as Godfrey does,
then it would be an excellent tool for you. If you know as much about it
as I do, you'll be able to get your work done. If you just go in and
poke about without knowing much about it, you'll likely find it a bit of
a frustrating experience as it is likely working from a different set of
base assumptions than you.
