Lightroom is as much, if not more, about organization and metadata as is it about processing. I use the keywording feature very extensively.
It's not simply a photo editing package. It's kind of like Bridge++, with editing tools designed for photographers, not graphic artists. The very best feature is that all the edits are non-destructive, and the source file is never modified.
