Bruce, here are my comments on your workflow. But please bear in mind that I very rarely have to import as many as 200 photos. Usually it is 50-100 photos from one shoot that I have to work with.

I do my file management prior to LightRoom (copying from memory cards, renaming, etc) in FreeCommanderPortable
(http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/freecommander_portable).
I simply find it convenient. All that I am doing with it can be done in LightRoom.

I do all my processing, organization, tagging, etc in LightRoom. I have a set of predefined export settings and set of directories for them (I suppose I could write "therefor" :-) ). It includes producing full size files for print, etc. Namely, my work for PDML Annual 2009 and 2010 was done in LightRoom entirely.

Then I use FileZillaPortable
(http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/filezilla_portable)
if I have to upload files on my web site or on any other FTP location.

For gallery generation I use JAlbum (http://jalbum.net/) but I don't publish them on their site. Instead I use mine. Admittedly I am way behind in this and need to do certain work on my web site in this regard.

Likely, what you're doing is more serious but perhaps my workflow sketch might help you to improve/simplify on yours.

Boris
