The 14.6MP Sony sensor resolves similarly to the Samsung part (when comparing the A550 to the K-7) while still delivering much better high ISO performance. I expect it will be the 14.6MP Sony sensor, not the K-x's 12MP sensor, in the K-7 update. -- M.
