Hi, I can't speak to color film specifically, but in the past I've made my own B&W 4x5 internegs from sections of 35mm frames, and the results were surprisingly good, considering I was a real novice at the time. Give it a try, Bruce, if for no other reason than it's another photographic technique that you should be aware of, regardless of your med format decision.
