It's magenta and yellow. I don't know if the filters have the same density, but I don't think that's the normal procedure anyway (if I understand what you're saying). Generally, at least when I use one, you start at a given guess for contrast. If you need more or less, you just subtract or add units. If it's a dichro head this addition or subtraction of filtration will change the exposure by an amount that is generally unknown. If you're using a VCCE head, the change will have no effect on exposure.
