You could do a Google search for something like "product liability attorney" plus the year, make, and model of the vehicle, plus, if there is one and you have it, the NHTSA notice for the defect. Sometimes, just having the NHTSA notice number in hand and calling the manufacturer's regional rep is enough to get them to act.
