I don't use a tripod most of the time. For how I shoot, it doesn't really work. Plus, it's a real PITA to carry it around on a walk. If I need some stability, my monopod is always attached to my main camera bag.
About the only time I even take it with me is when I'm planning on taking longer exposures like night or flowing water.
