I owned and used this lens before I bought the 16-50. The image quality is very good. The build quality leaves something to be desired. It extends as it's zoomed toward the wide end, and that extension feels a bit sloppy. But the performance was always quite nice. More barrel distortion than its pricier sibling, but that's to be expected.
