love it, take most of my photos with it; it was a great improvement over the 18-55 i started with; i have used it in mist and light rain numerous times, and given it quite a few knocks (usually against the lens hood) without mishap; i feel i can use it in rougher conditions than i'd want to with a "super premium" lens
i've used the 1:4 "macro" quite a lot too (i suspect it is more like 1:3.5 based on my tests), though it has been superseded for serious close-ups by a bargain sigma 105 macro
