I've read the reviews and either I have a really good copy, or I'm daft, but I've found the lens to be very capable and the perfect wide to medium lens for me. It's sharp wide open. It takes about 85-90% of the pictures that I shoot.
The only problem that I've had is that the lens hood detents on the hood bayonet have worn down.
