As a pedestrian in a smaller city, my experience is that cyclists are at least as rude and inconsiderate of pedestrians as they complain that automobile driver are to them ... if not more so.

As a cyclist, the only problem I ever had with a motor vehicle was being brushed aside by a city bus. There was no bike lane. Knocked me down & bent the front wheel, so that I had to push the bicycle home where I loaded it in the back of my automobile to take it to be repaired.

From that, I learned to ride in the middle of the lane, rather than near the right hand edge.
