I'm new to this list and fairly new to digital photography. I have enjoyed seeing some of the photos that have been posted by the members.

I have had a Pentax K1000 for donkey's years, which I have not used much in a long time. I just purchased a used K-7 body. One of the reasons I stuck with Pentax was because I had three lenses: (Focal MC 1:2 28mm, Pentax-M 1:2 50mm, a 50mm and a Vivitar MC 70-210. 1:4.5 Macro Focusing zoom)

My thinking was that it would be economical to be able to continue to use them. The two fixed lenses mount fine. The zoom, however, will not as it has a metal rim that is in the way. Can anyone provide any information on how to mate the Vivitar up with the K-7, or should I just bite the bullet and buy another lens?

Also how much of a problem is it to use the "M" and "MC" lenses?

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.
