Welcome to the list!! First rule, don't believe anything that Mark Roberts or Cotty says. Second rule, enjoy yourself! You'll find a wealth of photographic and Pentaxian knowledge here. As for your non-fitting lens I wonder if you're referring to the metal flange at the very back of the lens? Sometimes these need to be filed down to fit newer cameras.
