If that's the case, you'll probably need a teleconverter to move the barrel further out. The downside is that you'll lose a stop or so of speed on the lens and probably a bit of image quality. I'd be looking for another lens, preferably one with an 'A' setting on the aperture ring. The M lenses work on the K-7 using the 'green button' method. Basically you set the camera on manual, select the aperture you want and then press the green button - the camera then sets the appropriate shutter speed. You may also need to go in to the custom settings and set 'Using Aperture Ring' to 'Permitted' (at least that's what is needed with my K200D - I assume the K7 is similar). I think your MC lenses will work in a similar manner to the M lens.
