either; the Camera Connection Kit adds a USB port and SD slot; over wifi you
can use certain tools to manage things manually (e.g. via Dropbox); if you have
an EyeFi card, there's an app to suck your images directly onto an iPad; or you
can automatically sync photos with iCloud — some people really like that feature
i realize i misread your question; to get photos from iPad to computer, you'd
typically plug the iPad it into your computer via the regular sync cable (it
has a USB plug at the far end), then import images to iPhoto or Aperture; i
have not used them, but i understand some iPad apps such as Photosmith ($18)
can sync with Lightroom over USB or wifi; to work more directly, when connected
via sync cable you can use the Mac's built-in Image Capture app to just copy
image files to your hard drive
