Very entertaining story. Who'd have thought they had mandated "nap time" during
their short stay?

Armstrong stepping on the moon is one of those events where ~everyone~
remembers where they were when they saw it (I was a twelve year old in our
basement) - everyone except my S.O. who doesn't remember watching it, but she's
always marched to the beat of a different drummer.

;-)

Other such landmark events are hearing the news of JFK's assassination, the
first space shuttle blowing up and 9/11. And yes, I know exactly where I was
when I heard of those things.

To make reference to another thread, interesting that all those are American
events yet they are etched on the consciousness of a Canadian. Goes to show, eh?

;-)

I am saddened by Armstrong's passing. Of all those landmark "you never forget"
public events, this one was positive.

If in fact it even happened...

cheers,
frank

Short entertaining story of the first manned lunar landing. I remember
watching it live when I was 8 years old. My Dad telling the kids to
sit down and be quiet because this was important.

It simply amazes me that 1) the original video tapes were lost and 2)
Buzz Aldrin did not take the camera and get an image of Neil Armstrong
on the lunar surface. All the still image photography was done by Neil
Armstrong of Buzz Aldrin.
