I wonder if Pentax will update "HD" to "UHD" once UHD TV comes out....
I think they just should have left the name the same and upgraded the
coatings themselves.

Funny thing is the new coatings will be most effective on lenses with high
number of groups like complex zoom and wide angles, probably not the highest
definition lenses in the lineup.

The press release on pentaximaging.com says its 'High Definition'.

Not sure if they see it as a variant/additive to SMC as in 'SMC-HD' or 
something completely different ...
