On 23/12/14, Ralf R Radermacher, discombobulated, unleashed:

>Haven't been able to do any serious shoot-out with my other lenses
>because of the darned wind that's still strong enough to rattle even my
>sturdy Berlebach wooden tripod. I'm seriously fed up with this weather.

I know how you feel. My Sachtler Video 18 holds up well in the wind but
the problem is using the end of the bottle - the wind slaps and pulls at
the setup and makes it difficult to get a steady shot. My sister and
brother in law are sleeping in a caravan while they build their new
house on the Isle of Coll, Inner Hebrides. There is no other island
westwards of Coll so they've been taking the full brunt of the storms.
Numerous lightning strikes have fries modems and part of the power grid,
and the caravan is literally tied down.
