Maybe it's CS2 that's the problem? I think that version was a bit
squirrely.

Anyway, running the original Pentax DNG files through the converter
isn't necessarily a bad idea: The early Pentax cameras that offered
DNG raw didn't compress the files. Running them through the converter
saves disc space (and also smaller files equate to quicker backup
times). Even my K5 DNG files are smaller after going through the Adobe
DNG converter.
